About the association
The Louisiana Motor Transport Association is the statewide trade association representing motor carriers and trucking-related companies in Louisiana. Founded in 1939, LMTA states that its mission is to protect and promote Louisiana’s trucking industry. It represents different types of carriers and allied businesses through advocacy at the state and federal levels, safety and compliance resources, education, communications, member programs, and industry events. The association also maintains councils and affiliated programs for specialized member interests. Its work gives Louisiana trucking companies a collective voice on laws, regulations, workforce issues, and the operating conditions affecting freight transportation.
